How to Check the IBPS SO Result
The result is published online only. IBPS sends nothing by post, SMS or email, and there is no offline way to check.
- Go to ibps.in.
- Open the CRP Specialist Officers section.
- Click the result link for CRP SPL-XVI once it appears.
- Enter your registration number and your password or date of birth.
- Complete the captcha and submit.
- Download the result and save a copy. Keep it — you need it at the mains and the interview.
The result page shows your name, the post you applied for, the exam name, your registration and roll number, your category and whether you have qualified for the mains. Save it as a PDF rather than a screenshot; our image to PDF tool will convert a screenshot if that is all you managed to take, and compress PDF brings a large file down for uploading later.
Vacancies
IBPS revised the vacancy count twice. It opened at 745 posts, and the annexure updated on 27 August 2026 puts it at 1,043. Some sites still print 745 or 1,035; the figures below are from the official annexure.
| Post | Vacancies |
|---|---|
| IT Officer (Scale I) | 376 |
| Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I) | 370 |
| Law Officer (Scale I) | 125 |
| Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I) | 102 |
| HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I) | 60 |
| Marketing Officer (Scale I) | 10 |
| Total | 1,043 |
IT Officer and Agricultural Field Officer are 746 of the 1,043 between them. Marketing Officer, with 10, is the smallest.
Prelims Exam Pattern
Understanding what the result is scored against explains why a good overall score can still be a fail. The prelims ran to 125 marks in 80 minutes, with a separate 20-minute limit on each section, and 0.25 marks were deducted for a wrong answer.

How the Result Is Decided
- You must clear the cut-off for each section as well as the overall cut-off. Missing one section fails you whatever your total.
- Cut-offs are set separately for each post and each category, so an IT Officer cut-off tells you nothing about the Law Officer one.
- Scores are normalised across shifts, so the marks on your result are not simply the raw sum of your answers.
- Only the prelims qualifies you for the mains. Prelims marks do not carry into the final merit list.
IBPS publishes the cut-offs after the process ends, not alongside the result, so the result itself will tell you whether you qualified rather than by how much.
What Happens After the Result
- Mains, 1 November 2026. Qualified candidates sit the mains. The admit card comes out roughly a fortnight before.
- Interview, November or December 2026. Shortlisted from the mains, conducted by the participating banks.
- Provisional allotment. The final merit list combines the mains and the interview, and candidates are allotted to a participating bank.
Are Assam Candidates Affected?
This is an all-India recruitment with no state quota. Candidates from Assam sit the same exam and are ranked on the same list. Allotment is to a participating bank anywhere in India, and several of those banks run branches across Assam.
