Gauhati High Court MTS: 2 Posts at Aizawl Bench, Mizo Test Required

By AssamJobDesk TeamPublished on

These two Group-D (MTS) jobs are with the Gauhati High Court’s Aizawl Bench in Mizoram, not the principal seat in Guwahati, and the written test has a Mizo language section you have to pass. The online form opens at 3:00 PM on 3 November 2026 and closes on 17 November.

Two rules in the advertisement (dated 16 October 2026) rule out most readers in Assam. Anyone who has passed HSSLC (Class 12) or higher can’t apply, even though the minimum is Class 8, and hiding a higher qualification gets the form rejected. You also need at least 8 out of 20 in a Middle School standard Mizo paper. If you don’t read Mizo, skip this one. Court and state jobs you can sit from Assam are on our latest jobs page.

Two Unreserved Posts on Pay Level 1

Both posts are Unreserved, on Pay Level 1 (₹17,400 to ₹38,600 a month). The court says the number may change at final selection, and whoever is picked can be put on any Group-D duty.

Class 8 to Class 10 Pass, Aged 18 to 35

  • Unreserved: 18 to 35 years. SC/ST: 18 to 40. PwBD get 10 more years on the upper limit.
  • Age is counted on 17 November 2026, the last date. For Unreserved, that means born between 18 November 1990 and 17 November 2008. For SC/ST, the earliest date of birth is 18 November 1985. Check yours with the age calculator.
  • Class 10 pass is fine. The bar starts at HSSLC, and the form makes you declare that you haven’t passed it.
  • A person who has married again while a spouse is living, or married someone with a living spouse, is not eligible.

₹500 Fee, ₹250 for SC/ST, Nothing for PwBD

The fee can be paid until 20 November 2026 within bank transaction hours, three days after the form closes. It isn’t refunded.

A 70-Mark Test, Then a 20-Mark Interview

StageWhat it coversMarks
Written, Part 1General Knowledge and Current Affairs, General English, General Mathematics at Class 8 level50
Written, Part 2Mizo language, Middle School standard. Qualifying only, pass mark 820
Interview / viva-vocePass mark 1220

The written paper is 90 minutes, objective, on an OMR sheet. Mizo marks don’t count towards merit, but fall short of 8 and you’re out. Three candidates per post are called for the interview and document check, and the final list adds the written and interview marks. On a tie, the higher written score wins, then the older candidate.

Applying From 3 November

  1. Keep a working email ID and mobile number ready, and write down the Registration Code when you register. The court warns the confirmation email doesn’t always arrive.
  2. Go to ghconline.gov.in or ghcazlbench.nic.in and open the link for Group-D (MTS) in the Aizawl Bench. When we checked both sites on 28 October, the link wasn’t up yet, which fits the 3 November start.
  3. Upload scans of your birth certificate or Class 10 admit card, your Class 8 (or higher) marksheet or pass certificate, an SC/ST or PwBD certificate if you claim one, and a No Objection Certificate if you’re in government service. The PDF compressor helps if a scan is too large.

For technical problems, the court asks you to email rec-ghc@nic.in with the post name and your Registration Code in the subject line.
