Rabindranath Thakur Vishwavidyalaya: 7 ITEP Posts, Forms by Post Only

Pay is the odd part. The university runs its ITEP as a self-financed course, and the advertisement says the salary is negotiable, without giving a figure. The application form sits apart from the advertisement (No. 006/2026, dated 13 October) on rtuassam.ac.in. Look in the Important Forms box at the top of the Recruitment page for “Application form for ITEP (Teaching)”, a three-page form that asks for your marks from HSLC up, your NET or SET year, and whether you are ST(P), ST(H), OBC/MOBC or another category. The university says it will follow the reservation policy but gives no category split, and it keeps the right to change the number of posts or cancel the recruitment.

55% in the PG and the B.Ed, Plus NET or a PhD

Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, History and Geography (the notice calls these Assistant Professor in Pedagogy) need all three:

• a postgraduate degree in the subject with at least 55% or an equivalent grade
• a B.Ed with at least 55% or an equivalent grade
• NET, SLET or SET, or a PhD in Education or in the subject

An M.Ed, or a PhD in Education, counts in your favour. A PG with NET but no B.Ed won’t do.

Educational Studies needs an M.Ed with at least 55% or an equivalent grade, and NET, SLET or SET or a PhD in Education. A master’s in Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology or an allied subject is desirable.

No Fee, Age Limit or Interview Date in the Notice

The advertisement mentions no application fee and no upper age limit, and it gives no interview date. It does say there will be an interview and that no travel allowance is paid for attending. If the salary decides it for you, call the Registrar’s office before you post the form.

What Goes in the Envelope

1. The university’s ITEP application form, filled in with one subject ticked, plus a covering letter and your CV. The resume builder makes a clean one.
2. Self-attested copies of your certificates and mark sheets, proof of date of birth, experience certificates and your NET, SLET, SET or PhD documents.
3. On the envelope, write “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ... in the Department of ...” with your post and subject filled in.
4. Address it to the Registrar, Rabindranath Thakur Vishwavidyalaya, Hojai-782435, Assam (India), and send it by registered post. Keep the postal receipt.
