If Goods Train Manager is the job you want, Siliguri has 281 NF Railway vacancies against Guwahati’s 45. If you want the accounts post, only Guwahati has it.

RRB Guwahati’s 104 split as 43 unreserved, 17 SC, 8 ST, 27 OBC and 9 EWS, with 9 kept for ex-servicemen. Siliguri’s 291 split as 120 unreserved, 44 SC, 21 ST, 78 OBC and 28 EWS.

The choice is final. You name your RRB in the “Create an Account” form, and that field can’t be changed even in the correction window. A second application to any RRB gets all your applications rejected and can bar you from later RRB exams.

Born Between 2 January 1994 and 1 January 2009

That is the range for unreserved and EWS applicants, from the 18 to 33 age limit counted on 1 January 2027. OBC (non-creamy layer) applicants can be born as early as 2 January 1991, and SC and ST applicants as early as 2 January 1989. PwBD applicants get 10 years more (13 for OBC, 15 for SC and ST). The date must match your Class 10 certificate. If you’re near either edge, check with the age calculator.

One rule trips people up. SC, ST and OBC applicants who apply against unreserved vacancies get no age relaxation. To claim the reserved seat and the extra years, you need your certificate in the central format given in the CEN’s annexures. Our caste certificate guide explains how to apply for one in Assam.

Any Degree Will Do, and There’s No Typing Test This Time

All four posts need only a degree from a recognised university, finished by 6 November 2026. If you’re still waiting for your final-year result, you can’t apply.

RRB has dropped the computer-based typing skill test for the Junior Accounts Assistant and Senior Clerk posts in this CEN. Your typing will still be checked after you join, and a weak result can delay confirmation or promotion.

Goods Train Manager needs medical standard A2, the strictest of the four, and is not open to PwBD applicants.

₹500 Fee, ₹400 Back If You Sit CBT 1

The fee is ₹500, and ₹400 of it comes back (less bank charges) once you appear in the first CBT. SC, ST, ex-servicemen, PwBD, women, transgender, minority and EBC applicants pay ₹250, all of it refunded when they appear. Pay by 8 November.

A third of a mark goes for every wrong answer. To qualify in CBT 2 you need 40% if you’re unreserved or EWS, 30% if OBC or SC, and 25% if ST. You can take both papers in Assamese, one of 13 regional languages on offer, with the English shown alongside. No exam dates have been announced.

A Live Photo and a 30 to 49 KB Signature

You don’t upload a photo. The form takes a live one through your webcam or phone’s front camera, against a plain white background, so wear something dark. The signature has to be in running hand in black ink, scanned at 100 DPI or more, as a JPG between 30 KB and 49 KB. If your scan is too large, the image compressor will bring it down. SC and ST applicants who want a free rail pass for the exam also upload their certificate as a PDF under 400 KB.

The application site opened at www.rrbapply.gov.in, but typing rrbapply.gov.in without the “www” did not load for me, so use the full address.
