AssamJobDesk publishes job news, admit cards, results and related updates for Assam. You can read the whole site without an account. This page explains what is collected when you do, who else receives it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
You can read every post without giving us anything. There is no account or password, and we never ask for a phone number or a document. We do collect a few things if you choose to use them: the contact form, the email newsletter, and browser push notifications are all opt in, and each is described below.
Two things are recorded as you read, whether or not you sign up for anything:
- Page views. We count how many times each post is opened, so the site can show which updates readers are looking at most. The count is a number against a post — it is not tied to you, and we do not store your IP address alongside it.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs, including IP address and browser user agent, for security and to keep the site running.
The tools — the PDF and image tools, the age calculator — run entirely in your browser. A file you open in one is processed on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else, and it is gone the moment you close the page. We do not receive the file, its name, or anything about it.
If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you type into it, so that we can read your message and reply to it. That is sent to our inbox and kept there like any other email; it is not published, sold, or added to a mailing list.
To stop the form being used to send bulk mail, we count recent submissions per sender for one hour. That count is stored against a scrambled, one-way form of your IP address, not the address itself — it is enough to recognise a repeat sender, and it cannot be turned back into your address or used to identify you. The entries are deleted an hour after they are made.
If you subscribe to the email newsletter, we store the address you give us and send an email when a new post goes up. Every newsletter email carries a one-tap unsubscribe link tied to that address alone — using it removes you immediately, no account or reply needed. We keep an unsubscribed address on file, marked as opted out, only so a stranger typing it into the signup form again cannot re-add you; ask us to delete it outright at the address below.
If you turn on notifications in your browser, the browser hands us a push subscription — an endpoint URL and two encryption keys, not your name or email — which we store so we can send you a notification when a new post goes up. Turning notifications off in the site or in your browser deletes that subscription.
Third-party services
Several outside services run on this site. Each one receives some data directly from your browser or from us on your behalf, under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdSense serves the advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to select ads and measure them, which may include ads based on your previous visits to this or other websites.
- Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where they are, so we know which updates are worth publishing. It sets cookies and receives your IP address.
- Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, run by our hosting provider, tell us how many people visit and how fast pages load for them, so we can keep the site fast on a slow connection.
- Sentry records technical details when a page fails — the error, the page it happened on, and your browser and device type — so we can fix it. If a contact form message fails to send, the failure is reported the same way; what you typed into the form is not part of that report.
- Resend delivers the newsletter and any reply to your contact message. It receives the recipient address and the email content only to send that one message.
Advertising and cookies
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites.
You can turn personalised advertising off:
- Through Google Ads Settings, which controls the ads Google shows you across the web.
- Through aboutads.info, which covers other vendors as well.
- By blocking or clearing cookies in your browser settings. The site still works with cookies blocked; only the ads and the visit counts are affected.

Links to other sites
Most posts link out to an official notification, an application form or a results portal run by a government department or recruiting body. Those sites are not ours. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies, and you should read it before entering personal details or paying a fee.
Children
This site is aimed at people applying for jobs and admissions. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Your choices
There is no account or profile here beyond a newsletter subscription or a push notification subscription, and both are one tap to leave: the unsubscribe link in every newsletter email, or the notification toggle in your browser. If you have written to us through the contact form and want that email deleted, or want a newsletter address removed outright rather than marked opted out, ask at the address below. What you can otherwise control is the data the third-party services above receive: clear or block cookies in your browser, use the opt-out links in the advertising section, or use your browser's private mode.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page and the “last updated” date at the top changes with it. Substantial changes will not be applied retroactively to data already collected.
