Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 — Exam on 22-23 September, Admit Card Soon, City Details Out

This is Advertisement AGNIVEERVAYU INTAKE 02/2027, for unmarried Indian male and female candidates under the Agnipath Scheme. The engagement is four years. The notice is direct about one thing worth repeating: selection is on merit only, no bribe is required at any stage, and candidates should not fall prey to anyone posing as a recruiting agent.

Agniveervayu Admit Card 2026

Admit cards for Phase-I are sent to your registered email ID between 48 and 72 hours before the examination. With the test on 22-23 September 2026, expect the card from about 19 September. It can also be downloaded from your candidate login on the CASB portal at iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in.

The city and exam date are intimated separately at an earlier date so you can plan travel. Download the admit card, take a colour printout, and carry it to the centre — you will sit the test at the centre allotted on that card and nowhere else.

One warning from the notice that candidates lose their careers over: doing any rough work or writing anything anywhere on the Phase-I or Phase-II admit card means being DEBARRED PERMANENTLY. Keep the printout clean.

Carry one blue or black pen and your original AADHAAR card to Phase-I. Candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, J&K and Ladakh are to carry any other valid photo ID if they do not have AADHAAR — a specific concession that matters here, and the reason Assam candidates should not assume they will be turned away without one. Exam Pattern

The online test is objective and bilingual in English and Hindi, except the English paper. The paper you sit depends on the stream you registered for.

Marking is one mark for a correct answer, zero for an unattempted question, and 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer. With negative marking at that rate, a blind guess costs you more often than it pays.

Candidates must qualify in each paper individually. Marks are then normalised using the formula published on the CASB portal, to account for different difficulty across sessions — and both the Phase-II cut-off and the final merit list are built on normalised marks, not the raw score you walk out with.

Physical Fitness Test

Candidates who clear the online test are called to a designated Airmen Selection Centre for the PFT and the Adaptability Tests. The PFT has two parts.

PFT-I is a 1.6 km run — within eight minutes for male candidates and seven minutes for female candidates.

PFT-II follows after ten minutes of recuperation. Male candidates: 10 push-ups in one minute, then 10 sit-ups in one minute, then 20 squats in one minute, with a two minute break between exercises. Female candidates: 10 sit-ups and 15 squats. Full details of the exercises are on the CASB portal.

Everyone who passes Adaptability Test-I goes on to Adaptability Test-II, then the medical examination.

Eligibility

These were the conditions for the closed registration window, and they still decide whether your candidature survives document verification.

Date of birth. Born between 1 July 2005 and 1 January 2010, both dates inclusive. If a candidate clears every stage, the upper age limit on the date of enrolment must be 22 years. Our age calculator settles whether a date of birth falls inside that block.

Education, Science stream. Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and English from a recognised board, with at least 50% in aggregate and 50% in English. A three year engineering diploma with 50%, or a two year vocational course with non-vocational Physics and Maths and 50%, also qualifies.

Education, Other than Science. Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with 50% in aggregate and 50% in English; or a two year vocational course with 50% in aggregate and 50% in English.

Marital status. Only unmarried candidates are eligible, and Agniveervayu undertake not to marry during the four year engagement. Female candidates additionally undertake not to become pregnant during the engagement.

Height. Minimum 152 cm for male and female candidates. Female candidates from the North East or the hilly regions of Uttarakhand are allowed a lower minimum of 147 cm, and must submit a domicile certificate endorsing that status at Phase-II testing — a relaxation worth knowing about if you are applying from Assam.

Pay and Seva Nidhi

Agniveervayu are paid an Agniveer package rising each year, with 70% in hand and 30% going to the Agniveer Corpus Fund, matched by the Government.

The Government contributes an equal amount to the corpus. Total contribution to the Agniveer Corpus Fund after four years is Rs 5.02 lakh, and on exit the Seva Nidhi package comes to approximately Rs 10.04 lakh. The examination fee was Rs 550 plus 18% GST, non-refundable.

What Happens After the Exam

Shortlisted candidates are displayed on the CASB portal and called to a designated Airmen Selection Centre. State-wise shortlisted candidates receive a fresh admit card by email for Phase-II, which can also be downloaded from the candidate login.

For Phase-II you carry a colour printout of the Phase-II admit card and the original Phase-I admit card bearing the Air Force seal and the invigilator's signature — which is the second reason to keep that first printout intact after the September test. Bring legible photocopies of educational certificates for verification; internet copies of marksheets are not accepted.

Agniveervayu are enrolled under the Air Force Act 1950 for four years and form a distinct rank. The Air Force is not obliged to retain anyone beyond the engagement period.
