Assam VFA Admit Card 2026: Not Out Yet, Exam Date Awaited

Several websites already have an "Assam VFA admit card" page with a download button. None of them has anything to download. The department's own recruitment portal still shows only the advertisement and a line saying applications are over. We will update this post the day the admit card link goes live.

VFA Admit Card Status: What the Notice Says

The advertisement dated 29 August 2026 is short on this point, and it is worth reading exactly. Instruction 19(ix) says the date of the written test and the venue "shall be notified in due course of time". Instruction 19(x) says the eligible candidates, after scrutiny of applications, shall have to download the admit card as and when notified.

That gives you three things to go on:

• There is a scrutiny step first. The department checks every application before it issues admit cards. An incomplete form, a missing certificate or a wrong document can mean you get no admit card at all. The notice also says a submitted form cannot be edited.
• The admit card is online only. You download it yourself. Nothing is sent by post.
• No date has been promised. There is no expected month in the notice. Any site giving you a firm admit card date is guessing.

Assam VFA Admit Card 2026: How to Download It When Released

The form was filled on the VFA recruitment portal at ahvfa.assam.statedatacenter.in, even though the advertisement names animalhusbandry.assam.gov.in as the place to apply. Expect the admit card on the same portal, but go by the department's notice when it comes out. Once it is live:

1. Type the portal address yourself or use the Important Links on this page. Do not open a link from a WhatsApp group or an aggregator site.
2. Log in with the Registration No. or Enrollment ID printed on your application slip, and any other details the page asks for.
3. Check your name, photo, roll number, test centre, date and reporting time.
4. Download the PDF, print it, and keep a copy on your phone.

If you did not save your application slip, find the confirmation email or SMS on the mobile number and email you entered. The notice says those are the contacts the department will use to tell you about your application. It also says the department is not responsible if you entered them wrong. Before you trust any VFA link, check the domain against our list of official websites for Assam government jobs. The helpdesk address given on the portal is ahvdvfa@gmail.com.

Assam VFA Exam Pattern 2026

Whenever the date comes, the test itself is already fixed by the service rules. It is one OMR-based written test of 120 minutes, with 100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks, at Class 12 (HSSLC Science) standard.

Paper	Subject	Marks
1	Biology	40
2	Chemistry	20
3	Physics	20
4	General Awareness	20
Total (100 questions, 120 minutes) 100

Biology carries twice the weight of any other subject, so it deserves the most revision time. The notice does not mention negative marking or a minimum qualifying mark. The notice mentions no interview; the written test is the selection stage before training.

What to Carry on Test Day

The notice lists the photo ID it will accept at the written test. Carry the printed admit card and one original of any of these:

• PAN card
• Driving licence
• Passport
• Aadhaar card
• Voter ID card
• Current ID card from your educational institution

Travel is at your own cost. The notice says candidates cannot claim TA/DA for attending the written test, so if you live far from Guwahati, plan the trip once the centre is known.

What to Do While You Wait

The gap between application and test is usually the only real preparation time you get. A few things are worth doing now:

• Revise Class 12 Biology first. It is 40 of the 100 marks. Then cover Chemistry, Physics and current affairs about Assam and India.
• Keep your application slip. The notice told applicants to print the submitted form and keep it. You will need the registration number.
• Keep your originals ready. Uploaded documents are verified at a later stage. That means your HSLC certificate (the only accepted proof of age), Class 10 and 12 marksheets and certificates, Permanent Residence Certificate issued for educational purposes, and Employment Exchange registration card.
• Check your age claim. You must be between 18 and 40 on 1 January 2026. The upper limit is 5 years higher for SC and ST, 3 years for OBC and MOBC, 10 years for PwBD and 2 years for ex-servicemen. Use the age calculator with 1 January 2026 as the date. If you claimed a reserved seat, make sure your caste certificate is issued by the Government of Assam.

After the VFA Written Test

Clearing the test does not lead straight to a job. Selected candidates must first complete one year of training in elementary animal husbandry and veterinary science at the School of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Ghungoor, Silchar, or one of its extended campuses. You must pass that training before appointment, and you get three chances to clear its exams. Fail all three and you are not appointed. You also sign a bond in the form set by the service rules before training starts.

After appointment, the pay is in Pay Band-2, Rs 14,000 to Rs 70,000, with Grade Pay of Rs 6,200 plus allowances. The list of selected candidates will be published on animalhusbandry.assam.gov.in and on the notice board of the Directorate at Chenikuthi, Guwahati.

The full vacancy breakdown, eligibility and document rules are in our Assam VFA Recruitment 2026 post. The same department is also hiring for the Veterinary Officer posts, which need a veterinary degree.
