The Assam Home Guard Admit Card 2026 is out. Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) uploaded the e-Admission Certificates on 28 September 2026 for the screening and written test for Class-I (Junior Grade) Home Guards under Advt. No. 02/2026. The test is on Sunday, 4 October 2026. This post is for the 5,135 candidates on APSC's list. If you applied in May and are not on it, the admit card link will not work for you, and nothing below changes that. Other exams are listed under admit cards.

How to Download the APSC Home Guard Admit Card
- Open the APSC admit card page on apscrecruitment.in.
- Enter your application number. It is the ID that starts with DRAPP on your application printout and on APSC's candidate list.
- Fill in the other details the page asks for and submit.
- Check your name, roll number, photo, exam centre and reporting time, then download the PDF.
- Print it. Keep a copy of the PDF on your phone as well.
If you have lost your application number, look yourself up by name in the list of candidates (PDF). It is sorted alphabetically and shows the application ID, father's name and roll number. Download it only from APSC's own site; our list of official recruitment websites shows the real domains. For portal problems, APSC's technical helpline is 1800-572-23-43 (10 AM to 5 PM on working days), and the email is cceapsc@gmail.com.
Assam Home Guard Exam Date and Timing
Both papers are on the same day. Paper I is the OMR screening test, and Paper II is a written test answered in a booklet.
| Paper | Time (4 October 2026) | Type | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paper I: General Ability and Intelligence Test | 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon | Objective (OMR), questions in English | 200 |
| Paper II: General Studies, Essay and Comprehension | 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM | Conventional (written) | 200 |
Your exact reporting time and centre address are printed on the admit card, not in the notice. APSC said in the advertisement that it may hold the test in six zones: Guwahati, Silchar, Jorhat, Nagaon, Tezpur and Kokrajhar. It can add or cut zones depending on numbers, so go by the centre on your own admit card.
Home Guard Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Paper I covers general mental ability, general science, current events of national and international importance, Indian polity and economy, history of India, and Indian and world geography.
Paper II has two parts:
- Part A, essay (80 marks): long-form answers in Assamese or English. Topics lean on modern Indian history (especially the freedom struggle), geography, polity and economy, security and human rights issues, and analytical ability.
- Part B, comprehension (120 marks): English only. It covers passages, précis writing, developing counter-arguments and simple grammar.
Two rules decide whether Paper II counts at all. First, APSC marks Paper II only for candidates who clear the qualifying mark in Paper I, so the afternoon paper matters only if the morning one goes well. Second, you must write the essay medium you chose on both the attendance list and the answer book. If the medium you mark does not match the language you wrote in, the essay gets no marks. Part B written in anything other than English gets no marks either.
What to Carry on 4 October
- The printed admit card
- One original photo ID: PAN card, driving licence, passport, voter ID, Aadhaar, or a current college ID card
- Anything else the admit card lists. Its instructions override general advice, including this post.
After the Written Test: PET, Medical and Interview
Candidates who pass the written exam are called for the physical and medical stage. The advertisement says the State Level Police Recruitment Board will run the PET and medical test centrally in Guwahati.
| Physical Efficiency Test | Male | Female |
|---|---|---|
| 100 metres race | 16 seconds (max) | 18 seconds (max) |
| 800 metres race | 3 minutes 45 seconds (max) | 4 minutes 45 seconds (max) |
| Long jump (best of 3) | 3.5 metres (min) | 3.0 metres (min) |
The minimum height is 165 cm for men and 157 cm for women in the General, OBC and SC categories. For ST(P) and ST(H) candidates it is 162 cm for men and 152.40 cm for women. Chest must be at least 80 cm, expanding to 85 cm (78 and 83 cm for ST(H)). Eyesight must be 6/6 and 6/9 without glasses, and anyone who has had LASIK needs 6 months since surgery. A pregnant candidate is rejected at the PET. It is worth starting your running practice now rather than after the result.
Those who clear the medical face an interview (personality test) of 50 marks. The final merit list adds the written and interview marks.
Documents You Will Need Later
You do not need these at the written test, but keep the originals ready for the interview. The advertisement accepted either a Permanent Residence Certificate or an Employment Exchange registration certificate as proof that you live in Assam, so bring the one you uploaded. Our PRC guide covers getting a copy if you have lost yours. SC, ST, OBC and MOBC candidates need an Assam caste certificate. You will also need your Class X or XII admit card or certificate as age proof, your degree mark sheets, and two character certificates from respectable people who know you but are not related to you.
What Comes Next
For recent OMR tests, APSC has published a provisional answer key and taken objections for a short window. The APSC Junior Engineer answer key shows how that worked, so check apsc.nic.in in the days after 4 October. If you are also sitting APSC's CCE Mains, see the APSC CCE 2026 admit card post. And for the next recruitment, keep an eye on the latest Assam job notices.
