Navodaya JNVST 2027 Admit Card: Class 6 Test on 28 Nov at 11:30 AM

By AssamJobDesk TeamPublished on

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has put up the admit cards for the Class 6 selection test, and the test is on Saturday, 28 November 2026, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. It’s one sitting for every JNV in Assam. You download the card with your child’s registration number and date of birth. At the centre, your child is let in only with their own Aadhaar card or the parent’s residence certificate that was uploaded with the form, so find out which of the two you uploaded before you leave home.

There’s a second date hidden in the prospectus. If your child is selected, the birth certificate and the parent’s residence certificate must have been issued on or before the registration or test date. If either is missing, getting it before 28 November is the safe course.

Download With the Registration Number and Date of Birth

  1. Open the NVS admission portal (linked under Important Links) and choose “Click here to download admit cards for Class VI JNVST 2027”.
  2. Enter the registration number, your child’s date of birth and the answer to the small sum shown.
  3. Download and print the card. NVS says it is free, so nobody should charge you for it.

Lost the registration number? The same NVS page has “Click Here to Find Your Registration No.”, linked below as well.

When we opened the login on 2 November, it asked for only those three things, and its calendar would only let us pick a birth date between 1 May 2015 and 31 July 2017. That is the prospectus age window, so a child born outside it can’t open a card at all.

What to Take on 28 November

  • The printed admit card. The invigilator matches your child’s face with the photo on it.
  • Your child’s Aadhaar card, or the parent’s residence certificate, whichever was uploaded with the form.
  • Blue or black ballpoint pens of your own. Pencils aren’t allowed on the answer sheet.

The centre printed on the card is final and NVS won’t change it. The prospectus gives no reporting time, so go by what the card says and arrive early if the centre is far from home.

In Assam the paper comes in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bodo, Garo, Bengali, and Manipuri in Bangla script or Meitei Mayek. Once the booklet is in your child’s hands, they should check it is in the language chosen on the form and that its number matches the answer sheet. The prospectus says no complaint about the medium is heard after the test.

Each right answer is worth 1.25 marks and a wrong one costs nothing, so your child should mark an answer for every question. The OMR sheet is read by machine. Once a circle is darkened it can’t be changed, and an answer that has been struck out, erased or covered with whitener isn’t marked. Practise filling circles at home. Divyang children get 40 extra minutes. NVS has sample questions on navodaya.gov.in under Admission.

Results Due by the End of March 2027

NVS says the result should come by the end of March 2027, on the same portal, and the JNV principal also writes to selected families by speed post. Each JNV takes at most 80 children into Class 6. At least 75% of a district’s seats go to children who studied Classes 3, 4 and 5 in rural schools, and at least a third go to girls. Assam has 30 JNVs, 29 plus one more sanctioned for blocks with a large SC or ST population. NVS keeps no waiting list. If a selected child doesn’t take the seat, the portal moves the next child up.

Other exam calls are on the admit card page, and school and college intakes on the admissions page.

FAQs

What papers will we need if our child is selected?

The birth certificate, the parent’s residence proof from the same district as the JNV, your child’s Aadhaar, a certificate from the head teacher giving the school and its rural or urban location for Classes 3, 4 and 5, a migration undertaking, the transfer certificate from the current school, and a disability or SC/ST certificate if you applied under one. An OBC certificate must be on the central list, in the format attached to the prospectus. Rural-quota families also need a certificate that the child studied those classes in a rural school. The birth certificate, the residence proof and the eligibility proofs must be dated on or before the registration or test date. Our guide to caste certificates in Assam covers the SC, ST and OBC ones.
