Experience is listed under “desirable”, so a fresh M.Sc isn’t ruled out. Spoken and written English, Hindi and Assamese are listed as mandatory for both posts.

The base is Guwahati, with trips to districts to collect field data. The Associate works on crop diversity and wild relatives of crops, including workshops with farmer groups on saving indigenous seeds. The Assistant documents plants, animals and microbes. Both feed the People’s Biodiversity Registers and a Biodiversity Compendium of Assam. The notice says the contract may be extended if the project and funds continue.

What Goes in the Envelope

Each post has its own application format at the end of the notice, so print the right one. Paste a passport photo on it and attach:

• a self-attested copy of your Aadhaar or PAN card
• attested copies of your educational certificates
• attested experience certificates, if you have any
• details of courses, training and publications, if any

Send it to the Member Secretary, Assam State Biodiversity Board, Aranya Bhawan, 2nd Floor, Panjabari, Guwahati-781037. Only shortlisted people are called for an interview, and no travel allowance is paid for it.

We only noticed the 500-word “statement of suitability” at item 16 of the form. The notice’s main text doesn’t mention it, yet it’s mandatory. Write it before you print, since it has to explain how your degree and experience fit this particular post.
