Sivasagar Aathkhel Mouzadar: Only Property Owners in the Mouza Apply

By AssamJobDesk TeamPublished on

Only people who own permanent property inside Aathkhel Mouza can apply to be its next mouzadar, and the application has to reach the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Sivasagar by 30 October 2026. The post, in the Nazira revenue circle, fell vacant after the previous mouzadar died.

The DC’s notice is in Assamese only. Below is our reading of it point by point. Keep the original (linked below) open while you prepare your papers.

Who the DC Will Consider

  • An Indian citizen and permanent resident of Assam.
  • An owner of permanent property within Aathkhel Mouza.
  • Someone financially sound enough to pledge immovable property and a cash deposit as security for the mouza’s revenue and arrears. The notice says the amount is fixed but does not state it.

Among the mouza’s own residents, anyone who can furnish that property and cash security will be considered. Past experience of running a mouza gets preference, and an experienced applicant with Matric or higher gets preference too. There is no age limit in the notice and no fee.

If you’re asked to prove permanent residence, our guide to the PRC in Assam covers how to get one.

Three Years of Unpaid Revenue Come With the Post

The new mouzadar must collect this year’s land revenue and take full responsibility for the arrears of 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25. That is three years of dues left uncollected. Before you pledge your property, ask at the Nazira circle office how much is outstanding.

Eleven Points Your Application Must Cover

There is no printed form. Write the application yourself and cover these points in this order:

  1. Your name and full address
  2. Father’s name
  3. Age
  4. Caste and religion
  5. Present occupation
  6. Educational qualification
  7. Any past experience of running a mouza, with proof
  8. Your social standing and ties with local people, with supporting papers such as letters or resolutions from the public
  9. Caste certificate
  10. Certificate of financial soundness, from the competent authority
  11. Whether you have the space and facilities inside the mouza to set up a mouzadar’s office, with details

Attach a character certificate from two prominent local people. The notice says an application missing any of these details or papers will be rejected. If you still need a caste certificate, our caste certificate guide explains the process, but it may not arrive before 30 October.

Where to Hand It In

Submit it on or before 30 October 2026 at the office room of the Touzi Nobis (Revenue) branch, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar. No travel allowance is paid to those called for interview. The advertisement is issued under Rule 115 of the executive instructions of the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation, 1886.

The notice is dated 30 September, but the copy on the Sivasagar district website carries the DC’s digital signature from 7 October at 5:48 PM. If you only saw it this week, you have less time than the date at the top suggests.

FAQs on the Aathkhel Mouzadar Post

How much does a mouzadar earn?

The notice does not mention pay or commission.

Can I send the application by post?

The notice names only the office where it must be submitted and says nothing about post. Handing it in yourself and asking for a receipt is the safer way.

Checked against the DC Sivasagar notice No. SDRC/TN/02/Aathkhel Mouza/2026 (dated 30 September 2026, signed 7 October 2026) on 17 October 2026, and again on 21 October 2026.
