Pragjyotishpur University ITEP: 41 Teaching Posts, B.Ed Required

By AssamJobDesk TeamPublished on

Pragjyotishpur University in Chandrapur, Guwahati, is hiring 41 teachers for its four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), and applications go by email to itep.pragjyotishpur@gmail.com on or before 2 November 2026, with a hard copy to the Registrar. Most of the posts are Assistant Professor jobs in a school subject, and each of those needs three things together: a postgraduate degree with 55%, a B.Ed with 55%, and NET, SLET or a PhD. NET alone, without a B.Ed, won’t get you in.

The advertisement lists only subjects and seat counts. The qualifications are in a second PDF on the university’s home page, titled “Required Qualifications for Faculty Requirements in ITEP”. When we opened pju.edu.in on 24 October 2026, that sheet was on the home page notice board but not on the Vacancies page, which still showed only older advertisements. Read both before you apply. Other openings are on our latest jobs page.

34 Full-Time Posts, 6 Part-Time and a Head of Department

The ITEP covers B.A. B.Ed. (Intermediate and Secondary), B.Sc. B.Ed. (Secondary) and B.Com. B.Ed. (Secondary). The seat counts below are from the advertisement. The total of 41 is our count.

Educational Studies has the most seats of any single subject, and it is the one post that asks for an M.Ed instead of a B.Ed.

Qualifications, Post by Post

Subject posts (the university calls them Liberal Discipline and Pedagogy): a postgraduate degree in the subject or language with at least 55%, a B.Ed with at least 55% or an equivalent grade, and NET, SLET or a PhD in Education or in the subject. An M.Ed, an M.Ed in Elementary Education, or a PhD in Education counts in your favour. For the language posts, the sheet accepts a PG in English, a modern Indian language or a classical language.

Educational Studies: an M.Ed with at least 55% or an equivalent grade, and NET, SLET or a PhD in Education. A master’s in Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology or an allied subject is desirable.

Head of the Department: a PG in science, mathematics, social science, commerce or a language, an M.Ed, a PhD in Education, and eight years of teaching in a teacher education institution. The qualifications sheet says the head can be a Professor (ten years) or an Associate Professor, but the advertisement invites applications only for an Associate Professor. If you have ten years, apply anyway and say so in your letter.

Part-time posts:

  • Health and Physical Education: an M.P.Ed with at least 55%.
  • Art Education: a PG in performing or visual arts with at least 55%.
  • Career Guidance and Counselling: an Assistant Professor in Education who studied guidance and counselling as an M.Ed paper, or a part-time counsellor with a suitable qualification in the field.

Pay, Age and Fee Are Not in the Notice

Neither PDF gives the salary, an age limit, an application fee, a reserved-seat breakdown or how candidates will be selected. There is no application form either. We won’t guess at any of these. If pay decides whether you apply, call the university before 2 November.

Sending the Email and the Hard Copy

  1. Write a covering letter that names the post and the subject. The advertisement has no form, so this letter is your application.
  2. Attach your CV and scans of your mark sheets and certificates: PG, B.Ed or M.Ed, NET, SLET or PhD, and any experience letters. The resume builder makes a clean CV, and image to PDF turns phone photos of certificates into one file.
  3. Email it to itep.pragjyotishpur@gmail.com on or before 2 November 2026. If the file is too heavy to attach, shrink it with the compress PDF tool.
  4. Send the same set on paper to the Registrar, Pragjyotishpur University, Hajonbari, Chandrapur, Guwahati, Kamrup (Metro) 781150.

The advertisement doesn’t say whether the hard copy must also reach Chandrapur by 2 November. With nine days left, post it this week or take it in person.

FAQs on the Pragjyotishpur University ITEP Posts

Can I apply for more than one subject?

The advertisement doesn’t say. If you qualify for two, send a separate email and letter for each so neither gets lost.

Is this a permanent job?

The notice doesn’t say whether the full-time posts are permanent or contractual. It marks six posts as part-time and says nothing else about the terms.
