Eligibility Criteria for Assam Rifles Recruitment 2026

Age Limit (as on 1 July 2026)

• Most trades: 18 to 23 years
• Warrant Officer (Cipher), Warrant Officer (Draughtsman), Warrant Officer (Operation Theatre Technician) and Warrant Officer (Physiotherapist): 18 to 25 years

Upper age relaxation applies as per government norms — 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer), and separate relaxation for ex-servicemen depending on service length. Work out your exact age as on the cut-off date with the age calculator before you apply.

Educational Qualification

Qualification for Assam Rifles Recruitment 2026 is trade-specific. Two examples from the notification:

• Warrant Officer (Cipher): 10+2/Intermediate with Physics, Mathematics and English, plus an NSQF Level 4 or higher course of at least two years; or a bachelor's degree in Electronics/ICT.
• Rifleman (Electrical Fitter Signal): Class 10 pass plus a 2-year ITI certificate or a 2/3-year diploma in electrical engineering.
• Rifleman (Mason): Class 10 pass plus one year of trade-relevant work experience and a trade test.

Selection Process

Selection for Assam Rifles Recruitment 2026 runs through five stages, in order:

1. RFID-based Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
2. Document verification
3. Computer-Based Test (CBT) — 100 marks; qualifying cut-off is 35% for General/EWS and 33% for SC/ST/OBC
4. Trade Skill Test — qualifying only, pass/fail
5. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME), followed by the merit list

Only candidates who clear the PST/PET move to document verification and the CBT, so meeting the physical standards is the first hurdle, not a formality.

1. Go to assamrifles.gov.in and open the Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026 notification.
2. Register online and fill in the application form for your chosen trade. Applications open 28 September 2026.
3. Upload the documents the notification asks for — photograph, signature, educational certificates, category certificate where applicable, and proof of age.
4. Pay the application fee online where applicable (nil for SC/ST and ex-servicemen).
5. Submit before 28 October 2026, 11:59 PM. Keep a copy of the submitted form and the admit card once released, since the rally itself is expected from 23 November 2026.
