CRPF Sports Quota 2026 Vacancy Breakdown

521 vacancies are split across two posts, both against Sports Quota:

Vacancies are further split by sports discipline and event — swimming, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, football, hockey, judo, kabaddi, karate, shooting, taekwondo, volleyball, water sports, weightlifting, wushu, wrestling, yoga and more. The exact number of posts per event is in the detailed notification on the CRPF recruitment website; the numbers above are tentative and can change at any stage for administrative reasons.

Who Can Apply

Only players who have represented or won a medal in a qualifying competition between 30 September 2024 and 30 September 2026 are eligible. Qualifying achievements fall into four bands, in descending order of marks:

• Represented the country in a recognised international competition (with Sports Ministry clearance)
• Represented a State/UT in National Games or a Championship recognised by the Sports Ministry or Indian Olympics Association, with a medal or position up to 3rd place
• Secured 1st or 2nd position in an individual event at Inter-University Tournaments (or reached the final in a team event)
• Won Gold or Silver at a Junior National-level Games/Championship recognised by the Sports Ministry

For Constable (GD), the qualifying bar is slightly lower and includes State School Games (SGFI), Khelo India Games, and Inter-University Tournaments with a medal or top-3 finish. A candidate with more than one medal is marked only for the single highest achievement — medals do not stack.

Age Limit and Education

Age: 18 to 23 years as on 1 August 2026 for both posts — born between 2 August 2003 and 1 August 2008. The Matriculation certificate is the only document CRPF accepts for date of birth; no correction request is entertained afterward. Education: 10+2 or equivalent for Head Constable (GD); Matriculation or equivalent for Constable (GD). You must hold the qualifying certificate by 11 November 2026 — the closing date — or you are not eligible to apply at all.

Age relaxation beyond the standard 18-23 band:

Physical Standards — Note the Assam Relaxation

Standard height is 170 cm for male and 157 cm for female candidates, with minimum chest of 80 cm and 5 cm expansion for male candidates. Several categories get a relaxed standard, and one directly concerns Assam candidates: candidates from Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (grouped with Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras and Marathas) are allowed a minimum height of 165 cm (male) / 155 cm (female) and chest of 78 cm with 5 cm expansion. Scheduled Tribe candidates from North Eastern States get an even lower bar of 157 cm (male) / 147.5 cm (female). Carry the community/domicile certificate in the prescribed Annexure-I format to claim this at the Physical Standard Test — without it, the relaxation is not given.

Application Fee

Rs 100 for male candidates in Unreserved, OBC and EWS categories, paid online through the CRPF recruitment website. Fee is exempted for all female candidates and for SC, ST and Ex-servicemen candidates regardless of gender. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other recruitment.

Selection Process

Selection runs through several stages, in order:

1. Identity verification, including biometric capture
2. Documentation — original certificates for age, education, caste, sports achievement and any relaxation claimed are checked against what you uploaded online; candidates who cannot produce originals are eliminated at this stage. You must upload these certificates and four passport-size photographs to your CRPF profile before applying — our PDF compressor and image resizer help when the portal rejects a file for being too large
3. Physical Standard Test (PST) — height and chest measurement against the standards above
4. Sports Trial Test — conducted by a Board of Officers for your specific discipline; no marks are given here, but failing it removes you from selection regardless of your sports marks. Candidates may be subject to a dope test on the day
5. Detailed Medical Examination / Review Medical Examination

The final merit list is built entirely on marks for your sports achievement — the documentation, PST and trial stages are qualifying only and carry no marks themselves. Government servants must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer at documentation, or be rejected on the spot. Selected candidates execute a Rs 1,00,000 bond to serve CRPF for a minimum of three years before resigning for other employment.
