RRB Station Master 2026: 37 Posts at RRB Guwahati, 63 for NF Railway

The notice doesn’t agree with itself on the total. Page 3 says 1,215 posts. The RRB-wise table in Annexure B adds up to 1,265, and we added its 30 rows ourselves to be sure. Your chances depend on the RRB-wise figures anyway, so go by those.

You can apply to one RRB only. Applying to two gets every application rejected and bars you from later RRB exams. The RRB you pick can’t be changed afterwards, not even in the correction window.

A CBT You Can Take in Assamese, Then an Aptitude Test That You Can’t

The computer-based test (CBT) has 100 one-mark questions in 120 minutes. About 60 cover basic science, maths and data interpretation, 20 cover logical reasoning and an English reading passage, and 20 cover analogies, series, coding and ranking. A wrong answer costs a third of a mark. Assamese is one of the 13 regional languages offered, with each question shown in English alongside. To pass, UR and EWS candidates need 40%, OBC and SC 30%, and ST 25%.

Next comes the computer-based aptitude test (CBAT) for 8 times the posts in each category, which is about 296 people for RRB Guwahati’s 37. Its questions are only in English and Hindi. You need a T-score of 42 in every test battery, with no relaxation for any category and no negative marking. Final merit is 70% CBT and 30% CBAT. If you plan to write the CBT in Assamese, practise for the CBAT in English.

Eyesight Rules Some Graduates Out

Station Master is medical category A-2: 6/9 distant vision in each eye without glasses, plus colour, binocular, night and myopic vision tests. Anyone who has had LASIK or any other surgery to correct eyesight is not eligible. You have to bring a vision certificate in the notice’s format (Annexure VI) to the CBAT, or you won’t be let in. If you wear glasses, see an eye doctor before you pay the fee.

₹500 Fee, ₹400 Back If You Sit the CBT

The fee is ₹500, and ₹400 is refunded after you appear in the CBT. Women, transgender candidates, ex-servicemen, SC, ST, minority and Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates pay ₹250, all of it refunded once they sit the CBT. EBC is a separate group from OBC. Bank charges come off every refund.

The form is on rrbapply.gov.in. If you made an account there for any RRB notice in 2024, 2025 or 2026, log in with it. The details in that account, including your mobile number and email, can never be changed. The rest of the form can be corrected from 28 November to 7 December for ₹250.

A Live Photo and a Joined-Up Signature

The form takes a live photo of you through the camera. The signature has to be in black ink on white paper, in running handwriting, scanned as a JPG between 30 and 49 KB. The notice lists block or capital letters, coloured ink and a non-white background as grounds for rejection at any stage. Resize image gets a scan into that size range. SC and ST candidates who want a free rail pass for the exam also upload their certificate as a PDF under 400 KB, and compress PDF helps there.
