JEE Main 2027 Session 1: Form Closes 22 Nov, Assamese Paper Offered

By AssamJobDesk TeamPublished on

You can apply for the January 2027 session of JEE Main on the NTA website until 11:50 PM on 22 November 2026, and the fee has to go through by the same time. There is no age limit. Anyone who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026, or is sitting it in 2027, can register, and the exam runs on 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027.

At a centre in Assam you can take the paper in Assamese, with English alongside. NTA offers that pairing only inside the state, at Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar and Tezpur. The form takes four city choices, and only from the state of your permanent or present address, so if you live in Assam you pick four of these five and leave one out. Put the city you can reach most easily first. When we followed the registration link on jeemain.nta.nic.in on 26 October 2026, it opened a live JEE (Main) 2027 page on examinationservices.nic.in. Other entrance tests are in our admission section.

₹1,000 for General Boys, ₹500 for SC and ST

These are the fees for one paper (B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch or B.Planning) at a centre in India, for one session. Two papers have their own rates, listed in the bulletin.

CategoryMaleFemale
General₹1,000₹800
General-EWS, OBC (NCL)₹900₹800
SC, ST, PwD/PwBD₹500₹500

Third gender candidates pay ₹500. Pay by card, net banking or UPI. If you miss 22 November, the form stays open from 23 to 26 November for ₹500 more, the same extra for every category. Claiming the OBC (NCL) or EWS rate means having that certificate ready, and our EWS certificate guide explains how to get one in Assam.

Photo, Signature and Class 10 Upload Sizes

  • A live photograph, taken through your phone camera or webcam while you fill the form.
  • A recent passport-size photo as a JPG between 10 KB and 200 KB.
  • Your signature as a JPG between 10 KB and 100 KB.
  • Your Class 10 certificate or mark sheet as a PDF between 50 KB and 300 KB.

A photo straight off a phone camera is far bigger than 200 KB. The image compressor brings the photo and signature into range, image to PDF turns a picture of your Class 10 certificate into a PDF, and compress PDF helps if that file comes out over 300 KB.

Three Hours, Morning or Afternoon Shift

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) lasts three hours, either 9:00 AM to 12 noon or 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Candidates taking both B.Arch and B.Planning sit for three and a half hours. Your exam city is on the intimation slip due on 30 December, and the admit card follows on 13 January 2027.

April Is a Second Attempt, Paid For Separately

The April session has its own window, 5 January to 3 February 2027, with exams from 2 to 7 April. You don’t register again. You log in with the same application number and pay the Session 2 fee then. If you only want to sit in April, you can wait and register when that window opens.

FAQs on JEE Main 2027 Session 1

I made a mistake in the form. Can I fix it?

Yes, from 27 to 29 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM. NTA won’t accept corrections sent by post, email or WhatsApp.

Am I sure to get a centre in Assam?

No. NTA tries to follow the order of your cities but can allot a different one for administrative reasons, and it may merge cities that have very few candidates.

Checked against the NTA public notice and the JEE (Main) 2027 Information Bulletin, both dated 24 October 2026, and the registration link on jeemain.nta.nic.in on 26 October 2026.
