IBPS Clerk Admit Card 2026 Out: Prelim Call Letter Till 11 October

By AssamJobDesk TeamPublished on

The IBPS Clerk Admit Card 2026 is out. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection posted the Prelim call letter for CRP CSA-XVI on 1 October 2026, and the download link stays open until 11 October 2026. This post is for you if you registered for the Customer Service Associate (clerk) exam between 1 and 21 August and need your call letter, exam-day rules and the next steps. If you did not register, there is nothing to download here; the full notice, Assam's 354 vacancies and eligibility are in our IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2026 post.

IBPS has not published a single exam date. The notice says only "October 2026", and your own date, shift, venue and reporting time are printed on your letter. Since downloads close on 11 October, expect your Prelim on or before that day, and download the letter now rather than later.

How to Download IBPS Clerk Admit Card 2026

  1. Open the Prelim call letter page from the Important Links table below, or from the CRP CSA-XVI page on ibps.in.
  2. Enter your Registration Number or Roll Number.
  3. Enter your password, or your date of birth in DD-MM-YY format. It must match the date on your application printout.
  4. Type the captcha and log in. Download the PDF and print it on plain A4 paper.

Your Registration Number and password were shown on screen when you registered and sent to your registered email. Search your inbox for the IBPS acknowledgement if you have lost them, or use "Forgot Password" on the login page. If your date of birth is rejected, check the application print; the date you typed then is the one that works.

The page loads slowly when lakhs of candidates log in at once. IBPS itself suggests waiting five minutes and retrying, or trying late at night. The page needs JavaScript and a recent browser. If it shows a browser error, open it in an updated Chrome or on a computer.

What to Check on Your IBPS Clerk Call Letter

Read it the day you download it, not the night before the exam:

  • Your name, spelled exactly as on the photo ID you plan to carry. A mismatch means you are not allowed in.
  • The exam date, shift and reporting time. The reporting time is before the test start time, and latecomers are not let in.
  • The venue address. Your centre can be outside Assam even though you applied for Assam vacancies, and IBPS does not accept requests to change it.
  • The test language. For Assam, the Numerical Ability and Reasoning tests are offered in English, Hindi and Assamese; the English Language test is in English.

Prelim centres listed for Assam in the notice are Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar and Tezpur. If your venue is new to you, IBPS suggests visiting it a day early.

Documents to Carry on Exam Day

  • The printed call letter with one recent passport-size photograph pasted on it. It must be the same photo you uploaded with the application.
  • One extra copy of that photograph.
  • An original photo ID, valid on the exam day, plus a photocopy of it stapled to the call letter.
  • A ball-point pen. Rough sheets are given at the venue and must be handed back.
  • If you use a scribe: the printed online scribe declaration form, the medical certificate and undertaking from Appendix I and II of the notice, and your UDID card or disability certificate.

Accepted IDs are PAN card, passport, permanent driving licence, voter ID with photo, bank passbook with photo, Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar with photo, a current college or university ID, a Bar Council ID, an employee ID, or a photo ID issued by a gazetted officer or people's representative on official letterhead. A ration card and a learner's licence are not accepted. If you have changed your name, bring the original gazette notification, marriage certificate or affidavit.

Keep the call letter safe after the exam. IBPS stamps it at the venue but does not keep it, and you will need it, with the stamped ID copy, if you are called for the Main.

Exam-Day Rules at the Centre

The Prelim lasts 60 minutes, but plan to be at the venue for about 150 minutes for entry, checks and login. Your photo and right thumb impression may be captured and matched with your application. Wash off mehndi or ink from your fingers beforehand, and do not change your look from the photo you uploaded. IBPS may also run an online Aadhaar check, so keep your Aadhaar handy.

You cannot take in a mobile phone, watch, calculator, earphones, health band, handbag, belt, cap, goggles, any metal item, papers, or food and water bottles.

IBPS Clerk Prelim Exam Pattern

Three separately timed tests, 100 marks in 60 minutes. A wrong answer costs a quarter of that question's marks; a blank costs nothing.

TestQuestionsMarksTime
English Language303020 min
Numerical Ability353520 min
Reasoning Ability353520 min
Total10010060 min

You must clear the cut-off in each test, and cut-offs depend on the vacancies, state by state. You cannot submit early; the test runs its full time. Candidates eligible for compensatory time get 20 extra minutes per hour. The Prelim only qualifies you for the Main; its marks do not count in the final merit list.

The official mock test, linked below, runs on the same interface as the real exam. One sitting is worth it, mainly to get used to the section timer and the "Report Question" button.

Scribe and Pre-Exam Training

If you applied for a scribe when you registered, fill in the online scribe declaration form at scribe.ibps.in, upload the scribe's Class 10 or higher certificate, and print the form. The scribe must bring that original certificate and must not be a CRP CSA-XVI candidate. IBPS also posted separate scribe guidelines on 1 October. The Pre-Examination Training call letter for eligible SC, ST, OBC, minority, ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates went up on 28 September.

After the Prelim: Result and Main

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection gives a tentative schedule in the notice: Prelim result and Main call letter in November 2026, the Main in December 2026, and provisional allotment in March 2027. IBPS PO candidates went through the same steps a few weeks earlier, as covered in our IBPS PO 2026 admit card post. Results will appear under results, and other call letters under admit cards.

Only download from ibps.in and its ibpsreg or ibpsonline subdomains. Our list of official recruitment websites shows how to tell a real portal from a copy. If you are also preparing for other bank exams, see SBI Junior Associate 2026 and IBPS RRB Office Assistant.
