IBPS RRB 2026 Notification

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has issued the notice for the Common Recruitment Process CRP RRBs XV, for the recruitment of Officers in Scale I, II and III and Office Assistants (Multipurpose) in Regional Rural Banks.

Regional Rural Banks operate in rural and semi-urban areas, which makes this recruitment particularly relevant in Assam — postings are within the sponsoring bank's operational area rather than anywhere in the country.

IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

A Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised University or its equivalent. Higher scales require relevant experience and, in some cases, a specific degree — check the notification for the Scale II and Scale III requirements in your stream.

IBPS RRB Application Fee 2026

Note the difference between the two streams: for Office Assistants, ex-servicemen and dependants of ex-servicemen also get the Rs 175 concessional rate, which does not extend to the Officer posts.

IBPS RRB Exam Pattern 2026

The papers a candidate sits depend on the post and the stage. Note that candidates choose between the English Language and Hindi Language papers — you are not required to sit both.

IBPS RRB Selection Process 2026

1. Online Preliminary Examination — the first filter.
2. Online Main Examination — for candidates who clear the preliminary.
3. Common Interview — for Officer posts.

Office Assistant selection does not include an interview stage; the Officer scales do. Provisional allotment to a participating Regional Rural Bank follows the final merit.

IBPS RRB Documents Required 2026

• Photograph and signature
• Left thumb impression
• Hand written declaration
• SSC, SSLC or Class 10 equivalent certificate
• Caste certificate, where applicable
• Income and Asset certificate, for EWS candidates
• Valid disability certificate or UDID card, for PwBD candidates

The left thumb impression and hand written declaration are specific to IBPS and catch out first-time applicants. Both must be scanned to the published specifications, and a wrongly formatted upload is a common cause of rejection at the last stage.

IBPS RRB How to Apply 2026

1. Go to the IBPS online registration portal for CRP RRBs XV.
2. Register with a valid email address and mobile number, both of which must stay active through the process.
3. Fill in the application, selecting your post and preferred state.
4. Upload the photograph, signature, thumb impression and hand written declaration to the published specifications.
5. Pay the fee online — Rs 850, or Rs 175 if you qualify for the concession.
6. Submit before 21 September 2026 and keep a printout.

IBPS RRB 2026 — What Assam Candidates Should Know

Regional Rural Banks are the most locally rooted of the banking recruitments. Postings are within the sponsoring bank's area, which for an Assam candidate generally means working in Assam rather than being transferred across India — a real difference from a PO posting with a national bank.

The qualification bar is a degree in any discipline, so the field is wide, and the Office Assistant stream is open to candidates from 18. For a graduate in Assam looking at banking, this and the Bank of Baroda LBO recruitment are the two live options this September, though the latter needs a year of prior bank officer experience.

Choose your language paper deliberately. The option between English and Hindi is a genuine choice, and picking the one you are stronger in is worth several marks.
