SLRC Recruitment 2026: 72 Enumerator Posts, Apply by 14 November

SLRC Recruitment 2026: What This Notice Is

This is a standalone SLRC advertisement, not part of the big ADRE exam for Grade III and Grade IV posts. The State Level Recruitment Commission that runs ADRE also fills single cadres like this one when a department asks. If you are new to how the commission works, our guide to ADRE and SLRC explains it. The posts sit under the centrally sponsored Integrated Sample Survey (ISS), the national survey that estimates milk, egg, meat and wool production. The Government of India pays 90% of the cost of these posts and Assam pays 10%. The work is field data collection, which is why the notice asks for comfort with keying data into a handheld device.

SLRC Field Assistant Vacancy 2026: Category-Wise Posts

All 72 posts are filled against existing vacancies in the department's roster. Of them, 22 are reserved for women.

Category	Posts	Reserved for women
Open	37	11
OBC/MOBC	18	6
OBC (Tea Tribes and Adivasi)	1	0
SC	5	2
ST (Plains)	7	2
ST (Hills)	4	1
Total	72	22

Within the 72, three posts are for persons with benchmark disabilities (one each for blindness and low vision, deaf and hard of hearing, and locomotor disability) and two are for ex-servicemen. Ex-servicemen must upload the identity card issued by the Zila Sainik Welfare Office in Assam and their discharge book.

SLRC Enumerator Salary

The post is in Pay Band-2, ₹14,000 to ₹70,000, with Grade Pay of ₹5,600, plus allowances. The notice does not give an in-hand figure.

Age Limit for the SLRC Field Assistant Post

You must be at least 21 and not more than 40 on 1 January 2026. Two things stand out here. The minimum is 21, not the usual 18. And the cut-off date is nine months before the notice came out, so someone who turned 21 during 2026 is still too young. Use our age calculator with 1 January 2026 as the date before you start the form.

The upper limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC/MOBC, 10 years for PwBD and 2 years for ex-servicemen. Your age is taken only from the HSLC/Class 10 pass certificate or admit card. No other proof of birth date is accepted.

Field Assistant (Statistics) Eligibility and Qualification

You need all three of these:

1. Degree. A bachelor's degree in any subject with at least one paper in statistics, economics, mathematics, social science, sociology or psychology at graduate level. Or a bachelor's degree in any subject with 50% marks in mathematics in Class 12.
2. Languages. English and one of Assamese, Bengali or Bodo as subjects in HSLC.
3. Computer course. A certificate for a computer course of at least six months from a government-recognised institute, uploaded with the form.

On top of that, you need a valid employment exchange registration certificate in Assam. If yours has lapsed or you never registered, our guide on how to register at the employment exchange in Assam covers renewal and new registration. Do it before 14 November.

If you are claiming SC, ST, OBC or MOBC reservation, the caste certificate must be issued by the Government of Assam and name your caste, the order recognising it, and the village or town where you live. Our guide on how to apply for a caste certificate in Assam explains the process. PwBD candidates need a certificate of 40% or more disability and will face a medical board after selection.

Selection Process and Exam

The notice says selection is on merit, but it does not describe the exam. The selection procedure and exam details will be published on the application portal from 15 October. We will add them here when they appear. No TA/DA is paid for attending the exam, and you cannot choose your place of posting.

Before You Apply

• Applications open only on 15 October. Any site taking SLRC applications before then is not official.
• Keep two documents ready that the notice says will be asked for later: a No Objection Certificate if you are already in regular government service, and a declaration on the Small Family Norms in Form-A.
• Canvassing of any kind disqualifies you.
