Eligibility for Each Post

Every post requires a Master's degree from a recognised University with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade on a point scale or CGPA where a grading system is used. What separates the four posts is the experience demanded on top of that degree. Each post offers more than one route, and meeting any one of them is enough.

Controller of Examinations

Beyond the Master's degree, you need one of the following: at least 15 years of experience as an Assistant Professor at Academic Level-11 or above, or 8 years of service at Academic Level-12 or above including as Associate Professor, together with experience in educational administration; or comparable experience in a research establishment or another institution of higher education; or 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years must have been as Deputy Controller of Examinations or an equivalent post in a University.

The notice lists desirable qualifications too: conducting or assisting University, College or Institution examinations at the executive level, experience with different examination systems, a record justifying confidential work, and working knowledge of computers, automation of academic administration, ERP (SAMARTH), MOOCs, continuous and comprehensive evaluation, and ABC.

Deputy Controller of Examinations

Nine years of experience as an Assistant Professor at Academic Level-10 or above with experience in educational administration; or comparable experience in a research establishment or other institution of higher education; or five years of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post.

Desirable: conducting or assisting University, College or Institution examinations at the executive level, and a record justifying confidential work. The notice states that proficiency in the computerisation of examination work and working knowledge of computers and networking is essential.

Deputy Registrar

At least nine years as an Assistant Professor at Academic Level-10 or above with experience in educational administration; or comparable experience in research establishments or other institutions of higher education; or five years of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post.

Desirable: a degree in Law, Management or Engineering from a recognised University or Institute; experience of computer applications or an e-office system; and experience in establishment, academic or financial administration in an academic or research organisation.

Finance Officer

A Master's degree with 55% marks along with at least eight years of experience at management level in Finance and Accounts in a Government Organisation, Public Sector Undertaking or Research Organisation; or a professional qualification from ICWAI or ICAI, or an MBA in Finance, with five years of experience at management level in Finance and Accounts in such an organisation.

Desirable: computer literacy sufficient to oversee the computerisation of all finance, accounts and stores matters, with good interpersonal skills; a commerce or finance background at post-graduate level; and prior experience working in an educational institute.

How to Apply for Bongaigaon University Recruitment 2026

This is a postal application. Applications in any form other than the prescribed one will not be accepted.

1. Download the prescribed application form from the University website, bongaigaonuniversity.ac.in. No other format is accepted.
2. Fill in the form as a typed hard copy and sign it. Applicants must complete all parts of the form — incomplete applications are summarily rejected.
3. Take a demand draft for Rs 2,000 (Rs 1,000 for SC/ST candidates) in favour of Registrar, Bongaigaon University, payable at State Bank of India, Bongaigaon Branch.
4. Attach attested copies of mark sheets, birth certificate, educational certificates and experience certificates. An application without the relevant enclosures will be rejected, and a list of enclosures must be furnished as provided in the form.
5. If you are already in service, apply through the proper channel or attach a No Objection Certificate from your employer. If you are not already serving the University, attach a certificate of good character from the head of the institution last attended or served.
6. Post the application so that it reaches The Registrar, Bongaigaon University, Bongaigaon (Assam), PIN 783380 on or before 20 September 2026. The envelope must be superscribed "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF …" and indicate the post name and the advertisement number.
7. Send an advance soft copy, as a single PDF file, to registraruniversityofb25@gmail.com along with all necessary enclosures including proof of payment of the application fee.

Selection Process

Selection for all four posts is by screening and interview. There is no written examination mentioned in the advertisement.

All applications are scrutinised by a Screening Committee for shortlisting, and the notice is blunt that stringent criteria may be applied. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not entitle an applicant to be called for interview, and the Screening Committee's decision on shortlisting is final and binding. The University also reserves the right to limit the number of candidates called.

Candidates appear before the Selection Committee at their own cost — no TA or DA is payable for the interview or any test. Canvassing in any form leads to disqualification. Anyone selected must produce a medical fitness certificate signed by the Joint Director of Health Services of the district concerned, or a Government Medical Officer, before joining.

The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post at any time without assigning a reason, and to either fill or not fill a post.
