Salary and contract terms

The ASDMA District Project Officer post carries a consolidated pay of ₹72,336 per month. The engagement is purely contractual — it does not carry any claim to regularization or a permanent post — and starts at one year, renewable on satisfactory performance and availability of funds. Either side can end the contract early with 15 working days' written notice. Selected candidates will be governed by Assam Civil Service rules on conduct, discipline, appeal and leave, get 12 days of casual leave, and will report to the District Disaster Management Authority under the Deputy Commissioner of the district.

Job role and responsibilities

The District Project Officer works out of the district headquarters and is responsible for disaster management planning and coordination at the district, block, GP and village level — preparing multi-hazard disaster management plans, running awareness campaigns and school programmes, training government staff, PRIs, NGOs and youth clubs on disaster response, organizing mock drills, and setting up early-warning and control-room systems, besides other duties assigned by the Deputy Commissioner from time to time.
