Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (as on 31 July 2026)
For both grades, the mandatory qualification is the same:
- A graduate degree in any discipline from a government-recognised university or institution; and
- Certification in Forex Operations from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). The certificate must be dated on or before 31 July 2026.
Certifications such as CDCS or CSDG from LIBF, CTFP or GTC from ICC Academy, or CITF from LIBF/IIBF are preferred but not required, and must also be dated on or before 31 July 2026.
Work Experience (as on 31 July 2026)
| Grade | Minimum experience |
|---|---|
| JMGS-I | 1 year in trade finance processing and operations, in an officer/official role in a scheduled commercial bank (preferably in a maker role) |
| MMGS-II | 3 years in trade finance processing, in an officer/official role in a scheduled commercial bank |
Experience is counted after the essential academic qualification. Teaching and training experience does not count. The experience certificate from the employer must state specifically that the candidate worked in the relevant field.
Age Limit
Age is reckoned as on 31 July 2026.
| Grade | Minimum age | Maximum age |
|---|---|---|
| JMGS-I | 21 years | 30 years |
| MMGS-II | 23 years | 32 years |
The maximum age is for unreserved candidates. Upper-age relaxation is 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer), 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 to 15 years for PwBD candidates depending on their base category. You can work out your exact age as on the cut-off date with the age calculator before you apply.
Pay Scale
| Grade | Pay scale |
|---|---|
| JMGS-I | Rs 48,480 - 85,920 |
| MMGS-II | Rs 64,820 - 93,960 |
In addition to basic pay, the officer is eligible for DA, HRA, CCA, provident fund, NPS, leave fare concession, medical facility and other perquisites as per the Bank's rules in force.
Job Role
Trade Finance Officers work at SBI's International Banking Group processing centres. The JMGS-I post is a maker role — inputting trade transactions, scanning and uploading documents, and doing document scrutiny before approval. The MMGS-II post is a checker role — validating the maker's entries, screening transactions against sanctions and AML policies, and acting as an OFAC releaser. Both roles work in rotating shifts, including a night shift (9:00 PM to 6:00 AM). The posts stay in the Specialist Cadre and cannot be converted to the General Cadre.
Application Fee
- General, EWS and OBC candidates: Rs 750 (application fee and intimation charges)
- SC, ST and PwBD candidates: nil
The fee is paid online through the payment gateway during registration, using debit card, credit card or internet banking. It is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any future selection.
Selection Process
Selection is by shortlisting and interview. Meeting the minimum qualification and experience does not guarantee a shortlisting call — the Bank's committee decides the shortlisting parameters and calls an adequate number of candidates. The interview carries 100 marks, and the merit list is drawn from interview scores alone. Where two candidates tie at the cut-off, the older candidate ranks higher.
How to Apply
- Go to sbi.bank.in/web/careers/current-openings and open advertisement CRPD/SCO/2026-27/15.
- Register online, note the provisional registration number and password, and fill in the application form. You can edit a saved form up to three times before final submission.
- Upload a recent photograph and signature, your resume, ID proof, date-of-birth proof, degree certificate, the mandatory IIBF Forex Operations certificate, experience certificates, the biodata form and the mandatory undertaking (formats are on the careers page). Documents must be PDF, A4 size, under 500 KB each.
- Pay the fee online. Registration is complete only when the fee is paid.
- Submit before 19 September 2026. No correction is allowed after final submission.
If a scan or photo of yours is over the size limit, bring it down with the compress PDF tool or the resize image tool before you upload. Apply a few days early — SBI takes no responsibility for a failure to submit on the last day due to website load.
