LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026 — Apply by 30 September

The scheme runs through every LIC Divisional Office rather than one central list, which matters for how you should read your chances: you are competing within your own division, not against the whole country.

Which Scholarship Applies to You

There are two tracks, and which one you fall under depends on the exam you cleared most recently, not the class you are in now.

Read that eligibility condition carefully. It is not about your current class alone — the exam year you passed also has to fall in that three-year window. A student who cleared Class 12 in 2022 is outside the scheme, even if they are only now joining their first-year course.

How Much the General Scholarship Pays

The General Scholarship splits further by the field of study, and this is where the real money is.

Whichever slab you fall in, the amount is paid in two equal instalments across the year, not as a single lump sum. The Special Scholarship, for Class 10 pass-outs, is a flat Rs 15,000 with no further split by course.

Here is the full eligibility list for the scheme, covering both the General and Special Scholarship.

• You must have passed Class 10 (for the Special Scholarship) or Class 12 (for the General Scholarship) in 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26 — not any year further back.
• You need at least 60% marks or the equivalent CGPA in that qualifying exam.
• You must be enrolling in the first year of your course in 2026-27. Second-year students and repeaters do not qualify.
• Your family income must not exceed Rs 4.50 lakh a year, counted from all sources.
• General Scholarship courses must be recognised institutions offering Medicine, Engineering, Graduation, or an integrated, diploma, vocational or ITI programme. Special Scholarship courses must be government-recognised — Intermediate, Class 11, a vocational or diploma course, or an ITI.

Selection is merit-based within your assigned Divisional Office, decided by your PIN code, with separate counts kept for each gender and a waiting list held in case seats go unfilled.

How to Apply

The application is entirely online, through the Foundation's own portal.

1. Go to gjss.licindia.in.
2. Register with your basic personal and academic details.
3. Fill in your marksheet details for the qualifying exam — Class 10 or Class 12, whichever applies — and your course details for 2026-27.
4. Enter your family income and your bank account details carefully. The scholarship is paid by direct transfer, so a wrong account number is the most common reason a sanctioned payment never arrives.
5. Submit the form and download or print the confirmation page. Keep it — you may be asked for it later.
6. Selected candidates go through a second round where the Divisional Office asks for supporting documents. Submit these within the window given to you; the Foundation is explicit that late submission can cost you the scholarship even after provisional selection.

• Marksheet of Class 10 or Class 12, whichever qualifies you
• Admission proof or bonafide certificate for your 2026-27 course
• Family income certificate or proof, within the Rs 4.50 lakh limit
• Bank passbook or account details in your own name
• Aadhaar card
• Passport-size photograph

The application window this year is a flat 30 days with no extension announced. Do not wait for one — the second-round document check takes time on its own, and a late start leaves you less room if anything in your form needs correcting.
