AAI Recruitment 2026 Notification

The Airports Authority of India — a Schedule 'A' Mini Ratna Category-1 Public Sector Enterprise, constituted by an Act of Parliament — has invited online applications for 389 posts of Manager and Junior Executive in various disciplines. AAI creates, upgrades, maintains and manages civil aviation infrastructure on the ground and in the country's air space.

Applications are accepted online only, through the AAI website www.aai.aero. No application through any other mode is accepted. The cut-off date for age, qualification, experience and every other eligibility condition is 7 September 2026.

AAI Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details

All 389 posts by discipline, with the category-wise split as published.

Manager (Engg-Civil) with 145 posts and Junior Executive (Operations) with 79 are by far the largest openings — between them more than half the advertisement. Vacancies reserved for OBC are meant for Non-Creamy Layer candidates. Some posts also carry reservation for PwBD candidates; check the notification for the disability categories identified as suitable for each post code.

AAI Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

Age relaxation

Only the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation or Secondary Examination certificate is accepted. No later request to change the date of birth is entertained. For PwBD relaxation, the disability certificate must be issued on or before 7 September 2026.

AAI Recruitment 2026 Salary

Besides basic pay, candidates receive Dearness Allowance, perks at 35% of basic pay, HRA, CPF, gratuity, social security schemes and medical benefits as per AAI rules.

Candidates joining from other CPSEs, State PSUs or Government Departments through proper channel get pay protection as per DPE guidelines.

AAI Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

The application fee is Rs 1,000 (inclusive of GST), payable online only. Fee submitted by any other mode is not accepted.

These candidates are exempt from the fee entirely:

• SC candidates
• ST candidates
• PwBD candidates
• All women candidates
• Apprentices who have completed one year of Apprenticeship Training in AAI

The exemption for women applies regardless of category, so a large share of applicants pay nothing. Payment is by debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS, cash card or mobile wallet; bank transaction charges are borne by the candidate.

AAI Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection runs through a Computer Based Test, then verification and further stages depending on the post.

1. Computer Based Test (objective type) — conducted for all posts. There is no negative marking for a wrong answer. The test is bilingual, Hindi and English, except the language test.
2. Application Verification and subsequent tests, as applicable to the post.
3. Interview — for post codes 1 to 11, that is all Manager posts.

Candidates are shortlisted for verification, subsequent tests and interview on the basis of their CBT performance. Only shortlisted candidates are called.

Manager (Fire Services): extra tests

For Manager (Fire Services), application verification is followed by a Physical Measurement Test, a Driving Test and a Physical Endurance Test. The endurance test includes running, casualty carrying (lifting and carrying a sandbag), pole climbing, rope climbing, and full ladder climbing and descending. Only candidates who clear these are called for interview.

The syllabus is published under the "Syllabus" column of Advertisement No. 12/2026/CHQ/DR-CBT. The CBT is held in major cities across India, and no TA or DA is paid for attending. Once an examination centre is chosen it is final, and no request to change centre, venue, date or session is entertained.

AAI Recruitment 2026 How to Apply Online

1. Go to the AAI website www.aai.aero and open the recruitment link for Advertisement No. 12/2026/CHQ/DR-CBT.
2. Register and fill in the online application form with your personal, academic and category details.
3. Upload the documents the portal asks for, including your degree and statement of marks. State the exact percentage of marks obtained.
4. Pay the Rs 1,000 fee online — unless you are exempt as a woman, SC, ST, PwBD or AAI apprentice candidate.
5. Submit the form before 7 September 2026 and keep a printed copy.

Apply only if the final result of your qualifying degree has already been declared. Candidates claiming OBC (NCL), EWS, SC, ST or PwBD status must hold a valid certificate in the prescribed format; failing to produce it costs the candidature.

AAI Recruitment 2026 — What Assam Candidates Should Know

This is a central PSU recruitment open to Indian nationals across the country, so candidates from Assam apply on the same terms as everyone else. There is no domicile restriction, unlike most state vacancies.

Three things make it worth the effort. The pay is well above a typical state opening — about Rs 14 lakh CTC for a Junior Executive and Rs 21 lakh for a Manager. There is no negative marking in the CBT, so an informed guess costs nothing. And women pay no application fee at all, on top of the usual SC, ST and PwBD exemptions.

The practical constraint is the exam centre. The CBT is held in major cities and centre allotment is not guaranteed, so plan for travel from Guwahati or beyond, and choose your centre carefully because the choice cannot be changed later.
