Eight ITI operator jobs and one diploma engineer’s job are open at the West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union (WAMUL), the cooperative behind Purabi milk, until 5 November 2026, and none of them is for freshers. Operators need a year of full-time work in a factory, and the diploma post needs three. By our count the operator job comes to about ₹32,700 a month in cost-to-company terms, and its age limit of 28 means you must be born on or after 2 October 1997.
WAMUL 2026: 8 ITI Operator Posts at Purabi Dairy, ₹3.92 Lakh CTC
Both are contract jobs for an initial two years. The notice places them at a dairy plant within WAMUL’s area of operations without naming one, so you may not be posted at Panjabari, and WAMUL can transfer you later.
Pay and Age for Both Posts
| Post | Posts | CTC a year | About a month | Age limit on 1 Oct 2026 | Born on or after |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Assistant-I Dairy (Operator) | 8 | ₹3.92 lakh | ₹32,700 | 28 | 2 October 1997 |
| Assistant-IV (Dairy) | 1 | ₹5.71 lakh | ₹47,600 | 33 | 2 October 1992 |
The CTC includes PF and fixed and variable parts, so what reaches your account each month will be less. WAMUL calls the pay negotiable, and it may relax the age limit by up to three years for outstanding or experienced candidates. The notice gives no category-wise relaxation. If you’re close to the line, check with the age calculator.
Only Electrical, Fitter and Electronics Mechanic ITIs
The eight Assistant-I Dairy (Operator) posts need an ITI in the Electrical, Fitter or Electronics Mechanic trade from an NCVT or SCVT institute, and at least one year of full-time work in a manufacturing plant. Dairy or food plant experience gets preference. No other trade is listed.
The work is plant maintenance. You keep processing, packing and utility machines running, fit valves, plates and shafts, and turn up for breakdowns. The terms of reference warn of a wet, noisy floor with overtime, weekends and holidays, and list PLCs, refrigeration, 5S and GMP as useful knowledge.
The Diploma Post Wants Three Years in a Plant
The single Assistant-IV (Dairy) post needs a full-time three-year diploma in Mechanical Engineering and three years of operation and maintenance work in manufacturing. You’d run the plant’s substation and HT and LT panels, DG sets, water softening and effluent treatment, draw up preventive maintenance schedules, and deal with the factory, boiler and electrical inspectors. Basic Excel, Word and ERP or SAP skills are asked for.
Uploading on the Purabi Recruitment Portal
- Sign up on recruitment.purabi.coop with your email, click Complete Registration in the email it sends, and set a password.
- Open the post from the Job Openings page and apply. If you qualify for both, apply to each separately.
- Upload your photo and signature as JPG files of 20 to 50 KB each, and your certificates, experience letter and ID proof as PDFs of 100 to 400 KB.
Mind the 100 KB minimum. A one-page certificate from a phone scanner app can easily come out smaller, so scan it at a higher resolution. If a PDF is over 400 KB, compress it first. Once you submit, nothing can be changed.
Neither the notice nor the portal mentions an application fee. Applications by email aren’t accepted and nothing has to be posted to the head office. For portal problems, call 7099064176, 6901281756 or 7086012077 (Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM) or write to career@purabi.coop.
When I opened the portal’s Job Openings page on 21 October, both posts were listed as open from 17 October to 5 November, but neither the page nor the notice gives a closing time on the last day. Don’t leave it to the evening of 5 November.
Document Check First, Then a Test and Interview
Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification, and only those found eligible sit a written test and a personal interview. WAMUL may also hold a preliminary online interview while shortlisting. Bring the application form WAMUL emails you, original certificates for qualification, experience, age and ID, your latest salary proof, a set of self-attested copies and a passport photo.
Anyone who left WAMUL, EAMUL or NEDFL in the six months before 17 October can’t apply. Current Purabi Dairy or NDDB-managed unit staff need an NOC.

FAQs on WAMUL Assistant 2026
I finished ITI last year and have only done an apprenticeship. Can I apply?
The notice asks for one year of full-time experience in a manufacturing industry and doesn’t say whether an apprenticeship counts. Ask the helpline before you apply.
Checked against WAMUL’s REOI No. WAMUL/2026-27/14 (dated 17 October 2026), the terms of reference for both posts, WAMUL’s general terms and conditions and the recruitment portal on 21 October 2026.
