All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati issued Advertisement No. Biochem/AIIMSG/26-27/1088 on 24 September 2026. This AIIMS Guwahati vacancy pays a consolidated amount, so expect no other allowances. The contract is for one year at first and may be extended until the project ends, depending on your first year's performance. Either side can end it with 30 days' notice. Project Associate I Eligibility and Qualification

Essential: a postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks, including integrated PG degrees, in Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences or a related discipline.

Desirable:

• at least 6 months of experience with genomic data analysis
• a pass in a national-level exam run by a government agency, such as CSIR, UGC, ICMR, DBT, GATE or DST

"Desirable" matters more than it sounds. The notice says AIIMS may shortlist on the desirable qualifications if many people apply, and the department may apply specific requirements of its own. The application form also asks directly whether you have human genomic or transcriptomic data analysis experience, and asks for a summary in under 100 words. If you have a CSIR or UGC NET, GATE or similar score, or any sequencing or variant analysis work, put it front and centre.

Selection: Possible Test, Then Interview at AIIMS Guwahati

• Shortlisting: depending on the number of applicants, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati may hold a screening or skill test, or a written exam, at AIIMS Guwahati. It may also shortlist on the desirable qualifications.
• Interview: in person only, at AIIMS Guwahati. The date and the shortlist will be put on the AIIMS Guwahati website before the interview. No one gets an individual letter.
